The St. Clair Shores Lodge was started by an individual by the name of Walter Norge who was a member of the Hamtramck Moose Lodge. After receiving a charter as stated above St. Clair Shores Lodge # 1837 first started on Nine mile in St. Clair Shores. Later to move to the West side of Harper and Eleven Mile area. From there we moved to the East side of Harper next to Franks Nursery. On July 16, 1992, the lodge located next to Franks Nursery was tragically damaged by fire. Our lodge was without a home for over two years while we searched for the right piece of property and during the construction of our new building. Our new lodge was opened in September 1994 on the West side of Harper north of 14 mile in Clinton Township. Since then our lodge has grown to over 2200 men and women members.
